Workshop | The Contrapuntal Poem: More Than One Way to Read (and Write)

  • Kansas City Public Library 14 West 10th Street Kansas City, MO, 64105 United States (map)

A contrapuntal poem is made up of multiple poems, which invites readers to read the poem in two or more ways. Learn about the poem’s origins, read examples by Nkosi Nkululeko, Tyehimba Jess, and others, write, share drafts, and devise strategies for completing your own poems in this tradition.
